Ship Recycling Policy
EEC aims to provide regional hubs for green ship recycling facilities by collaborating with or operating quality ship recycling yards in compliance with the most stringent ship recycling standard available. To partner with ship owners and end beneficial owners of vessel generated ferrous and nonferrous scraps to provide disposal services to vessel owners who have assets that have outlived their commercial usefulness.

EEC is committed to:

- Ensuring safe and environmentally sound management of all operations including the reliable handling, storage and final disposal of all hazardous and other wastes, during ship recycling process;
- Ensuring the demolition activities are carried out on impermeable floors with effective drainage system;
- Ensuring that waste management facilities which receives the wastes operates in accordance with human health and environmental protection standards that are equivalent to the most stringent international standards;
- Establishing and maintaining an emergency preparedness and response plan;
- Ensuring compliance with the statutory laws and regulations in the country of operation and other international regulations applicable to our business, including Hong Kong Convention, European Ship Recycling Regulations, relevant guidelines from IMO, ILO, the Basel Convention and the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic polluting substances;
- Establishing management and monitoring system, procedures and techniques which has the purpose of preventing, reducing, minimizing and to the extent practicable eliminating:

- Health risks to the workers concerned and to the population in the vicinity of the ship recycling;
- Adverse effect on the environment caused by ship recycling.

- Establishing and maintaining an emergency preparedness and response plan;
- Ensuring all ship recycling yards are committed to continual improvement in all processes and voluntary compliance in all ship recycling yards with the requirements of the ISO 30000:2009, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 9001:2015 standards;
- Reviewing this policy at regular intervals to ensure it reflects the current vision, mission and objectives of EEC.
This policy is communicated to all our employees and all personnel working on behalf of EEC. Copies are made available to all interested parties through our website.
